New Tech Gadgets Go On Display

BOSTON -- The future of mobile technology went on display in Boston Tuesday, as new gadgets were unveiled at the Society for Information Display symposium.

NewsCenter 5's Anthony Everett reported that consumers will soon be able to get 3-D gaming for their cell phone and their cars may soon have the time, temperature, and speed limit displayed on windshields.

With a new automotive display from Microvision, there may be fewer distractions in the car, like turning the radio on, or checking gauges. Everything you need to know is on the windshield.

"You would drive down the road, and projected on screen is all the information about traffic, stuff about car, engine or it could be what's playing on the radio. It's designed to be in the plane of where you are looking. It floats out in space so you don't have to look down, which is much more distracting and unsafe," Microvision spokesman Tom Daley said.
