250 Nomads required by the Government

The government has a requirement to procure up to a quantity of 250 of the NOMAD 2500. The NOMAD 2500 is an augmented vision system with vision switch assembly. It is the only day/night see-through heads-up display commercially available that connects to the FBCB2 V4 computer and weapon sensors in the Stryker vehicle. The Government will conduct safety conformations/releases on the heads-up display configuration(s) and environmental tests to determine the ruggedization level of the heads-up display . A user evaluation is planned to determine the effectiveness of the day/night see through heads-up display(s) and associated accessories. The government intends on negotiating solely with Microvision, Incorporated, 19910 North Creek Parkway, Bothell, WA 98041 for this acquisition. Microvision is the manufacturer of the NOMAD 2500. The government intends on solicitating Microvision, Inc. on approximately 8 November 2004 for the NOMAD 2500. The proposal shall be submitted by approximately 15 November 2004. The Government plans to negotiate a contract for a quantity of 2 to be delivered with 2 days of contract award with an option which may be exercised within 12 months ARO for up to 250 additional NOMAD 2500s to be delivered within 6 months of option exercise. The anticipated award date of this requirement is 30 November 2004. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated. Fed Biz Opps Number Note 22 applies to this acquisition.
