3.4M shares are sold short, or about 16% of the total number of shares of the company (21.5M). In the event of an unforeseen (by them) upside surprise, it could be very difficult for them all to cover in an orderly manner.

Microvision is contracted to Canon, BMW, VW/Audi, a Tier 1 Auto Supplier, a major Asian manufacturer of printers and office equipment, a leading provider of bar code scanning and auto ID products and systems, one of the world's leading suppliers of mobile handsets, one of the world's leading wireless network operators, as well as the US Department of Defense. The company is now marketing the first commercially viable display product in their history and could be making some hay with the Flic as far as anyone knows.

For what it's worth, I would not consider it a safe assumption that none of these contracts and none of these product marketing efforts will bear fruit in the form of meaningful revenue for the company.
