Microvision Joins the Symbian Platinum Partner Program to Drive Development of Commercial Bar Code Scanning Applications for the World's Leading Smartphone OS

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 2006--Microvision, Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS), the world leader in the development of scanned beam high-resolution displays and imaging systems, today announced that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Partner Program to support the growing market for Symbian OS(TM). As a Platinum Partner, Microvision is extending its Flic Cordless Laser Bar Code Scanner product to the Symbian ecosystem, to promote the development of feature-rich commercial bar code reading applications for Symbian OS.

Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the market leading open operating system that powers today's most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers and to date, over 83 million Symbian smartphones have shipped worldwide to over 250 major mobile network operators.
