Tech Convergence Will Spur Demand for New ADAS Technology

Foxconn Projector Module Certified for Laser Safety

The IEC records database shows Foxconn had a "projector module" product certified for Laser Safety under the standards IEC 60825-1:2007 and IEC 60825-1:2014 by the third-party testing company TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd on December 12, 2018.

This certification for laser safety would appear to be indicative that Foxconn is performing the necessary regulatory steps to support the commercial introduction of a projector module that includes lasers.

Foxconn-owned Socle tech published this Sharp Laser Diode Product Introduction document in October 2018 which includes multiple references to MicroVision components, modules and products.

In May of 2018, MicroVision announced it had assigned a worldwide exclusive license for the rights to manufacture and sell "Display Only" MVIS projector modules to a company it later called "a major company that you would know."

You can find the certifications on the IECEE deliverables website, search for the Reference Numbers shown

Edit: Not sure what the reference to 940nm wavelength means.
