Microsoft Plans Hololens Event at Mobile World Congress Feb. 23

Microsoft will hold a press event at this year's MWC, likely to talk about HoloLens

Microsoft is making a return to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year, following the introduction of the second-generation HoloLens in 2019. The augmented reality headset was a successor to the original HoloLens, which released in 2016, and it featured some notable changes like a wider field of view and a Snapdragon chipset.
As shared by Tom Warren of The Verge, this year, Microsoft's appearance seems to be once again focused on HoloLens, with Alex Kipman as one of the hosts. Julia White, Corporate Vice President for Azure, will also be at the event, which will take place on February 23 at 5PM Central European Time, the day before MWC officially begins.
Being that the HoloLens 2 started shipping about two months ago, it seems unlikely we'll be getting a successor already. This could be about an cellular-enabled variant of the HoloLens 2, seeing as the company chose to not include that capability in last year's model, despite the Snapdragon 850 chipset supporting it. More likely is that it's just an introduction of new apps and features for the headset.
Of course, we won't know for sure until the event takes place. With less than one month before then, it shouldn't be too long of a wait.
